The next working day in the international corporation “Belko” begins very strangely. All doors and windows are blocked, and a mysterious voice over the speakers announces to the employees that they will not leave the building until each one has killed two of his colleagues.

At first, the request looks like a stupid joke. But later it turns out that exploding chips are built into the workers, and the only chance to survive yourself is to kill others.

The film was directed by Australian Greg McLean, but the idea itself belongs to screenwriter James Gunn, the author of Guardians of the Galaxy. They came out with a caustic and well-thought-out comedic horror about what people are ready to go to when they are locked in the same room with each other. But we warn you right away: there are a lot of violent scenes here.

2. Akimbo guns

An ordinary video game developer, Miles lives a very boring life, so he goes online in the evenings to troll people. One day, he inadvertently manages to piss off a gang of scumbags who are arranging an online survival show. The poor fellow is tightly nailed to the weapon to his hands and given a choice: either he will kill an invincible rival named Nyx, or he will die.

Daniel Radcliffe is usually remembered for the Harry Potter films. Although over the past 10 years, he has played all sorts of crazy roles: a guy who grows horns, a hunchback, a skinhead, and even a corpse. It seems that the actor specifically chooses strange projects that are as different as possible from the one that made him famous.

“Akimbo guns” just fit well into this series. The film makes fun of the brutality of social networks, although you can’t call it a serious satire: most of the running time here is taken up by gunfights and chases.

Adam Robitel’s film was a real hit, breaking its budget tenfold. It is ideal for those who want to watch a tense thriller about survival in a confined space, but at the same time are afraid of scenes of violence. So, unlike the classic “Cube” and “Saw”, here even the death of the characters is not particularly savored.

The dynamic and bloody film by Craig Zobel was at the center of the scandal even before the release. Especially the picture pissed off former President Donald Trump, who saw this vitriolic political satire as a mockery of the American people.

Directors Matthew Bettinelli and Tyler Gillett managed to combine brutal slasher and black comedy in one film. This is the perfect picture for those who are looking for a balance of humor and cruelty in cinema. Also, the tape is worth watching for all fans of the beautiful Samara Weaving.
