Few people know, but Jackie Chan’s character – Huang Feihong (Wong-Fei Hung) – is a real figure in Chinese history and the founder of one of the most famous wushu styles called hungar. Already at the age of 13, Feihong was considered an excellent fighter, and when he joined the army during the Xinhai Revolution, he became famous throughout China as the Robin Hood of the 20th century.

Nowhere is it said about the influence of alcohol on the demonstrated fighting style, so we can assume that the film is a free interpretation on the topic.
